Our recommendations are at the bottom of this page, but take the time to read about some of the salli features and make up your own mind. As always, we are here to help though! It's a question we often get asked - with so many models available - which Salli is right for me?
The answer is generally - any Salli! But, lets take a closer look at the features and what they mean to you.
Every Salli will help your posture if used in a riding like position. This is the main purpose of a Salli, and really, is why any Salli is way better than what you are probably sitting on right now.
Additionally, almost every salli is a 2 part seat, or has a recessed gap in the middle. This ensures that the many other health benefits of using a salli are achieved - regardless of your budget!
Most chairs on the market have a height adjustment, as do all Sallis, but it is important to be able to raise and lower your chair to the correct height. Seat height is critical to achieving good posture - this is why Salli offers several gas spring options based on user height ranges rather than a "one size fits all" approach.
While not critical to achieving good posture, it can help with the initial adjustment period and may be better for those that have slightly built frames. The 2 halves of the seat can be moved closer together or further apart, and you can also adjust the angle between them.
While not a must have feature, it is certainly a nice to have, and recommended if budget allows.
Active sitting/swing/sway mechanism
Salli has a unique, patented active sitting mechanism which allows the seat to tilt in 360 degrees. This means when you reach or lean the seat top moves with you, adding to the comfort, and activating your back and core muscles every time you move. This active rather than static sitting environment maintains blood flow to the spine, preventing your back from becoming stiff and sore.
The active sitting feature is a salli highlight and the benefits are huge.
Tilt mechanisms can be found on many office chairs and on the salli it works no differently. It allows you to change the front to back angle of the seat and lock it into position. While this functionality is better than a fixed seat, we recommend the active sitting function unless you have a specific reason for needing a tilt only.
This really comes down to budget. Leather is always a great option, but it also depends on how you use the chair. If using in a dirty or medical environment then vinyl or the moulded seat could be the best option for you as it can be more easily cleaned.
All sallis have a better warranty than most chairs on todays market, offering up to 10 years on some models! A good warranty is an investment in the future.
